The Philadelphia cable-and-entertainment giant said second-quarter net income came to $3.74 billion, or 80 cents a share, compared with $2.99 billion, or 65 cents a share in the year-earlier period. Overall revenue in the second quarter rose 20.4% to $28.5 billion. Revenue from its cable operations rose 10.9% to $16 billion, while revenue at NBCUniversal rose 39.2%, to $8 billion. Revenue from its Sky satellite operations in Europe rose 14.9% to $5.22 billion.
