German holiday marketplace at RiverEdge Park opened to a warm reception Friday, despite the frigid temperatures.

What better way to get into the holiday spirit than with a mug of warm red gluhwein, which was my first, and I’m told “extremely important” taste of Christkindlmarket that opened on a brutally frigid Friday at RiverEdge Park in Aurora.
The shops and their products are as varied as they are unique. Two of my favorites - a stocking hat that can be transformed into at least a dozen variations and an exquisite hand-carved Jerusalem olive wood nativity scene.At least that’s what Jim Jarvis, vice president of programming and sales for RiverEdge Park, proclaims.
