The Colorado School of Mines football team’s romp through the RMAC continued Saturday afternoon.
The Orediggers made quick work of Chadron State before a sellout homecoming crowd at Marv Kay Stadium, running up a five-score halftime lead that was never challenged in a 35-7 victory.
Running back Noah Roper scored three touchdowns, all before halftime, quarterback John Matocha threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns, and the Mines defense racked up five sacks. The second-ranked Orediggers have outscored RMAC competition 160-28 through three conference games, with Saturday’s blowout the first time they were held under 50.
