Drone footage shows the remains of entire neighborhoods destroyed by wildfire in Boulder County, Colorado. Gov. Jared Polis said Sunday that more than 1,000 homes were destroyed by last week’s fires and many more were damaged.

Over the weekend, some families returned home and got a firsthand look at the damage. Burned cars and scorched homes were covered in snow. There were 600 homes without power outside the burn zone as of Sunday, and they are expected to regain power by end of day, the sheriff's office said. There are 1,000 homes within the burn zone without power, according to the sheriff.

(AP) — A Colorado official says nearly 1,000 homes were destroyed, hundreds more were damaged, and that three people are missing after a wildfire charred numerous neighborhoods in a suburban area at the base of the Rocky Mountains northwest of Denver.
