10 lifejackets wash up on Jersey Shore beach, Coast Guard says
At least 10 life jackets washed up on a beach in Cape May County on Tuesday morning, prompting the U.S. Coast Guard to begin searching the area with a helicopter and rescue boat, officials said.The Coast Guard has launched a 65-foot Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Atlantic City and 45-foot response boat medium out of Cape May to canvass the ocean, the spokeswoman said.
Wildwood Crest police chief Robert Lloyd told NJ Advance Media that in addition to the life jackets, a light and a small bat or club was also found.
