Both have been arrested for their participation in climate marches."Well, because of you, I got arrested for the first time," Tomlin replied.
Fonda had been spearheading weekly climate protests, known as"Fire Drill Fridays," in Washington, D.C., where she recently moved"to be closer to the epicenter of the fight for our climate.""I learned a lot in the slammer," Tomlin said, which got some laughs on"Ellen."Then amidst their joking around, the audience was hit with a hilarious surprise ... the two were apprehended by two"law enforcement officers" on stage.
Tomlin could be heard protesting,"I'm not going back into the slammer!" as the"officers" escorted them off the stage with metal cuffs ."I’ve heeded the call of Greta Thunberg, who was just named Time’s person of the year, left my comfort zone, and moved to D.C. to carry out weekly climate actions called Fire Drill Fridays," she
