Composer Mark Knopfler’s unforgettable score has been specially arranged for the Cleveland Orchestra's performance on Feb. 16, 2024. "Missing this cinematic concert experience would be inconceivable," the orchestra said in a press release.CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cleveland Orchestra is adding a pair of Hollywood classics to its series of popular movie nights for its upcoming 2023-24 season at Severance Music Center.
Then on Feb. 16, 2024, the orchestra presents the beloved 1987 fairytale romance “The Princess Bride” with live musical accompaniment of Mark Knopfler’s enduring score which has been specially arranged for this performance. The orchestra also announced a couple of additions to its slate of holiday programming. Jazz pianist Cyrus Chestnut will perform his 2000 album “A Charlie Brown Christmas” with the orchestra on Dec. 8. The orchestra also added a 12th performance -- a matinee on Dec. 22 -- to its series of holiday concerts featuring conductor Brett Mitchell and singer Capathia Jenkins. Tickets for those concerts, which run Dec. 13-Dec.
