CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Guardians will open the 2023 season with a four-game series against Seattle at T-Mobile Field on March 30 to start a seven-game trip that ends with three-games against the A’s at Oakland Coliseum.
The biggest difference in next year’s schedule is that every team in the big leagues will play every other team. It will add a different spin to travel, and re-scheduling games that are postponed by bad weather could present some problems. Regarding interleague play, teams will play 46 games, an increase from 20 this season. As an example, after the Guardians finish their three-game series with the Yankees on April 12, nine of their next 12 games will be against National League teams: three at Washington ; three vs. Miami and three vs. Colorado .
All 30 teams are scheduled to start the season on March 30. That has not happened successfully since 1968.
