Cleveland Clinic announces details for new research facilities funded in part by the Cleveland Innovation District
will open the first of three new medical research facilities this month, and said Thursday that construction on the other two will begin next year.
The initial building opens this month and contains 45,000 square feet of remodeled research space. It will house three existing research programs: the Center for Computational Life Sciences, the Center for Immunotherapy and Precision Immuno-oncology including the Cell Therapy Program, and vaccine development, and the Center for Therapeutics Discovery.
Next year, the hospital plans to begin construction on two additional research buildings on Cedar Avenue and E. 100th Street in Cleveland’s Fairfax neighborhood on the southern edge of the Clinic’s main campus. , and will include a new highly specialized biosafety laboratory for the investigation of infectious pathogens.
