No. 3 Ramsay races past Carroll to return to Class 5A title game.
“We have elite athletes. We do it from June until now. We break down practice with 1-on-1 and 5-on-5. Every single day. It’s going to be effective. In this bigger arena, the shots haven’t always fallen for us, so we are going to win with defense.” – Johnson on his team’s defensive success.“We started slow. The second half was better. I thought if we got out of the chute better, we would have had a better chance. One thing we didn’t need was a slow start.
“The pressure gave us problems. We were a little nervous. We had some unforced errors, and they forced some. I wish we could have settled down a little more.” – Henry. “I’m thankful for the time we spent together, the bond we made. It means a lot.” – Dawkins on his team’s success this year. “We had a goal at the beginning of the season to make it here. We wanted to win and make it to the state championship game, but we came up short. I’m still proud of these guys.” – Carroll’s Takoda McLeod.
