Manchester City will almost certainly be weaker when Pep Guardiola decides to leave, but talk of a Fergie-style struggle shouldn't come to pass
The longer Pep Guardiola stays at Manchester City and the more he wins, the harder it will be to replace him.
Because of the impact Guardiola has had on the league, and the difficulty United have had in replacing Ferguson, there is huge interest in City's replacement plan. Current Premier League footballers Michail Antonio and Callum Wilson discussed it on their podcast recently, with Antonio touting Vincent Kompany on the basis that his status at City would allow him the clout to come in and implement a new style.
"Almost every player that we speak to wants to play for Pep, but they want to be part of this team because they see Pep and his coaches but they see what Txiki has done over so many years of building an amazing squad," he said.
