Nolan Nearly Directed The Keys To The Street Instead Of Batman After Following was released in 1998, Christopher Nolan wrote a movie adaptation of The Keys to the Street, which is a 1996 British crime novel written by Ruth Rendell. However, Nolan dropped out of the project because it was too thematically similar to his previous movies .

What Would've Happened If Nolan Didn't Direct Batman If it wasn't for the Sliding Doors moment of choosing to direct Batman Begins instead of The Keys to the Street, Nolan's career would have been way different.
