From Ukraine, a veteran war correspondent finds that despite the deprivation caused by Putin and his troops, the country's resolve has strengthened.

As Christmas approaches, the deep freeze has now come to Ukraine, a conflict in which over 14 million people have been displaced, and many are taking shelter in unheated buildings without electricity.
