Christine Blasey Ford was presented with the ACLU's Roger Baldwin Courage Award on Sunday.

Christine Blasey Ford has reportedly called on Americans to believe the account of former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, who testified in President Donald Trump's impeachment inquiry last week.

Ford made the appeal while accepting the American Civil Liberties Union's Roger Baldwin Courage Award at the ACLU of Southern California's annual Bill of Rights dinner on Sunday night. "When I came forward last September, I did not feel courageous," Ford said of her decision to come forward with accusations of sexual assault against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his nomination process last year.Kavanaugh was successfully appointed to the Supreme Court, despite facing multiple accusations of sexual assault and harassment dating back to the 1980s, but Ford said she had felt compelled to do her"duty as a citizen" by sharing her account.

Two years ago at this event, Colin Kaepernick at this event said, “We all have an obligation, no matter the risk and regardless of the reward to stand up for fellow men and women. He quoted Frederick Douglass saying, “If there is no struggle, there is no progress."

Welcome Back, Christine Blasey FordWelcome Back, Christine Blasey FordIt’s been a little over one year since the Brett Kavanaugh hearings took place, which seems nearly impossible to believe: the dread lingers. But this isn’t about accused men playing victim in some fabricated 21st century witch hunt, as my colleague Emily Alford wrote at the time. It is about Christine Blasey Ford, who on Sunday made a rare public appearance at the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California in Beverly Hills to accept the Rodger Baldwin Courage Award. It’s nice to see such a familiar and trusted face, and I don’t mean Judd Apatow who, for whatever reason, presented her with the award.
