Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has a new name for Donald Trump: “Donald Duck.”
Mr. Christie has been among the fiercest critics of Mr. Trump and went full Disney on the former president at the second GOP presidential debate for once again being a no-show.
“Donald, I know you are watching, you can’t help yourself,” Mr. Christie said, speaking directly into a camera at the Ronald Reagan Library in California. “I know you are watching, and you are not here tonight, not because of polls and because of your indictments. You are not here tonight because you are afraid of being on this stage and defending your record.”
“You’re ducking these things and let me tell you what is going to happen, you keep doing that, no one up here is going to call you Donald Trump anymore, we are going to call you Donald Duck,” Mr. Christie said with a wry smile. Mr. Trump skipped the debate stage in favor of traveling to Michigan to address auto workers as part of his push to recreate the coalition that helped power his 2016 victory.
Mr. Trump has taken more and more criticism from his rivals over his record on everything from spending to immigration, and for failing to follow through on campaign promises.
