Chris Tucker addresses his potential return in Rush Hour 4 alongside Jackie Chan after the sequel was officially announced to be in development.
Chris Tucker teases his Rush Hour 4 return alongside Jackie Chan. Featuring the unlikely pairing of the stand-up comedian and the martial arts icon, the original Rush Hour trilogy was released from 1998 to 2007 to commercial success and mixed critical reception. After the film series went dormant for several years, save for a short-lived TV show, Chan announced late last year that Rush Hour 4 was officially in the early stages of development.
Now, months after Chan announced Rush Hour 4's development, the other half of the leading duo is weighing in on his potential return in the long-awaited sequel. Speaking to Audacy’s V-103 promoting his role in Air, Tucker said he is "definitely" down for Rush Hour 4 alongside Chan and teased his return alongside the acting icon. Read what he said below:
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY You’re going to see a lot of good stuff coming, but it’s going to be on a whole other level. That’s what I like…I’m excited about that. It’s not going to be what you’ve normally seen… Rush Hour 4, that’s something I definitely will probably drop in there because I love working with Jackie, but I’ve got some new stuff that I think you’re really gonna like. I’m excited about it.
One impediment potentially holding up the development of Rush Hour 4 is Brett Ratner, who directed all three movies, being accused of sexual assault and harassment by several actors, including Olivia Munn, Natasha Henstridge, and Elliot Page. Warner Bros. subsequently severed ties with Ratner, leading Rush Hour to find a new director for its fourth installment. With both lead stars now at least tentatively attached to Rush Hour 4, the long-awaited sequel appears to be finally coming together.
