'...if they really care, why did 60 of them refuse to condemn Trump when he abandoned our Kurdish allies to withdraw forces from Syria? Why didn't they go after this deal with the Taliban?”

“Right-wingers are now pleading the case of refugees, while many condemn those fleeing persecution south of our border. And even now, some try to scare folks by saying Biden wants to bring millions of Afghans here,” Cuomo said.

Cuomo also pointed out that the same Republicans blaming Biden are ignoring the fact that the Trump administration was found responsible forSpecial Immigrant Visas for Afghans who worked with the United States, which left Biden with a backlog of more than 17,000 SIV applicants when he took office. Many also voted against speeding up the SIV process.

“It was pretty much the same group that voted against speeding up visas for Afghans fleeing the Taliban. You do remember that, right?” Cuomo asked. “You do remember that the Trump administration, with the tacit approval of these people, if not outright approval, made it harder for people to get visas. It was part of his designed Muslim ban.”

After Trump bluster, Biden ends war drawing praise from liberal icon Michael MooreAfter Trump bluster, Biden ends war drawing praise from liberal icon Michael MooreWhile Donald Trump followed the tack of many politicians -- pledging to change U.S. war policy without actually doing it -- President Biden ended the U.S. war and presence in Afghanistan. In his first interview since the end of the war, filmmaker Michael Moore, a longtime critic of hawkish U.S. foreign policy, discusses the war, why it lasted for two decades, and why Biden deserves tremendous credit. 'I have been completely surprised and feeling that we are all blessed to have Joe Biden in the White House in these last months,' said Moore, who noted he voted and supported Sanders over Biden in the primary; and when Melber asked Moore about the negative reception he got for his anti-war speech during the 2003 Oscars, Moore said 'This was the fifth night of the Iraq War - the Oscars. How could I not say something?' and he noted his planned movie contract was also torn up in what he believes was retaliation.

Evidence for vaccine booster shots isn't clear, but Biden moves ahead anywayEvidence for vaccine booster shots isn't clear, but Biden moves ahead anywayThe U.S. is poised to begin rolling out booster shots in a matter of weeks, with still one major sticking point to resolve: It's not entirely clear yet that third shots are needed. President Joe Biden recently vowed to begin deploying boosters the week of Sept. 20, pending a green light from federal regulators. Evidence for boosters is still mixed, and announcing a timetable -- while likely popular with much of the public -- put independent government regulators in a corner by suggesting they would sign off no matter what.
