A 10-year-old was killed during a suspected dispute between two families in Northern California, officials said.

A 10-year-old boy was killed in a shooting during a suspected dispute between two families in Northern California on Sunday,The Yuba County Sheriff's Office booked a suspect, Juan Ortiz, 31, of Olivehurst, on multiple charges, including homicide and being a felon in possession of a firearm, shortly after the incident, according to a Monday news release.
Deputies were dispatched to a report of a shooting on the 5700 block of Alicia Avenue in Olivehurst at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff's office said. At the scene, they found the boy inside his home with a gunshot wound. Medics took him to Adventist Health and Rideout Hospital, where the boy was pronounced dead. His name is not being shared because he is a juvenile.
