The police department said they were looking for the man who shot the father. The suspect was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and a distinctive Raiders baseball cap. The man also appeared to have long facial hair, police said.
The boy was found in a locked SUV in the 5900 block of Elm Street just after 7 p.m., police said. Officers found the SUV after his mother called police to report the father and son missing, police said at a press conference on Tuesday night. Satterwhite said the cause of death of the child could be heat exhaustion, but a final determination hadn’t been made as of Tuesday night.
The SUV was stolen after the fatal shooting in a parking lot in the 5500 block of El Camino Del Ray around 1:46 p.m., police said.
