A Chicago shooting and home invasion left Quentin Pruett shot to death in the 7600 block of North Sheridan Road in Rogers Park, officials said.
A neighborhood is on edge after police said a man visiting from Wisconsin was shot and killed during a home invasion while staying with relatives in Rogers Park on Tuesday.
The Cook County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 45-year old Quentin Pruett of Madison. Chicago police said Pruett was inside a ground floor unit at an apartment building in the 7600 block of North Sheridan Road when shots rang out. They called 911 as the shooter ran away into the alley. Some people living in the area said this isn't the first time there have been problems at the apartment building.
Some residents said they've made multiple complaints to the authorities about the condition of the property located on the city's Far North Side. A spokesperson for 49th Ward Alderwoman Maria Hadden said her office is aware of neighbors' concerns.
