Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling appeared before a city budget committee on Tuesday for his first budget hearing.
Topics included migrants being housed in police stations, officer overtime, and an increase in personnel spending.
"Those positions, it helps with the consent decree when we talk about span of control with the number of super advisory positions that we've put in. Field training officers, detectives, sergeants, lieutenants, and a couple of captains positions. Also to enhance investigations. Thirty new sports for evidence technicians. This helps us with the consent decree, it helps us with oversight.
