By Tuesday evening the densest smoke will be in cities including Springfield, Illinois; Peoria, Illinois; Louisville, Kentucky and Roanoke, Virginia. On Wednesday afternoon, the smoke will start to weaken slightly but reduced air quality is still expected from Minnesota to North Carolina.
