In another direct message sent in January while the lawsuit was ongoing that has not been previously reported, Freeze, the highest-paid employee at Liberty, told Andrews, “I would love for you to help me understand your attacks on me and our program. I’m open to talk about issues you have with me/program either face to face or by phone but I’ve never believed in social media discussions when you don’t truly know the other party. Hope you are well and have a great day.
”Her July tweet got considerable attention at the time, generating multiple stories and at one point becoming a trending topic on Twitter. That tweet saw a surge in popularity again last weekend when Auburn focused its search for its next football coach on Freeze. Critics of a potential Freeze hire re-shared Andrews’ tweet as a troubling sign that Freeze had not reformed the way he had claimed since his well-publicized extramarital affairs when he was caught making at least.
