But there's nothing childish aboutOn Monday, September 2, Theron posted a photo of herself to Instagram with the caption, "She’s baaaaack #Fast9," the hashtag referring to herfranchise character, Cipher, who was previously seen with waist-length blonde locs. But both Cipher and Theron have gotten a major makeover with a super-short bowl cut that looks so much cooler than we ever imagined a bowl cut could look.
"I had been thinking about how to take Charlize’s dark hair into something cool and modern," Abergel tells, referring to Theron's most recent look, a short, deep brown style. "I created the concept around '90s images of Linda Evangelista shot by Peter Lindbergh.
Colorist Shannon Gallacher joined the transformation team to lighten Theron's hair to a "wheaty blonde" — dark in the undercut and roots with cooler blonde and beige highlights throughout. Along the way, Abergel treated Theron's hair with Virtue ColorKick keratin filler as well as the brand's Restorative Treatment Mask to keep her hair hydrated and stave off damage.The new look is winning over fans on Instagram, including fellow celebrities.
