“Hey, I didn’t graduate, in fairness...I’m gonna go back if I need a degree one day.” Charles Barkley said. “And just for the record, I’m doing pretty damn good for a college dropout!”

Producers put a viewer tweet on screen referencingduring which Barkley’s math didn’t add up. During a postgame interview with Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray, Barkley asked the Canadian-born player his age and noted Saturday night marked the first time the Toronto Maple Leafs had won an NHL playoff series since he was 12. The team had not won since 2004 -- that’s 19 years, not the 14 that avid hockey fan Barkley deduced.

The tweet shared on screen showed an image of a confused “SpongeBob SquarePants” character Patrick Star with the text reading “26- 19=12????? Auburn education at its finest.”Always a good sport, Barkley laughed at himself and said, “Hey, I didn’t graduate, in fairness...I’m gonna go back if I need a degree one day.”“Yes, you are,” Johnson said. “That’s for sure.”

After they broke down the Nuggets’ win over the Suns, the TNT producers shared more tweets, starting with the well-known “confused John C. Reilly” gif and text reading, “Chuck sitting class @AuburnU.”Barkley played three seasons at Auburn from 1981 to 1984, averaging 14 points per game and nearly 10 rebounds a game during his college career. He was drafted fifth overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1984 NBA Draft.

Since retiring, Barkley has enjoyed a hugely successful career as an analyst for Turner Sports, appearing on TNT’s “Inside the NBA” alongside host Ernie Johnson and fellow panelists Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith.
