The Chargers placed defensive lineman Joe Gaziano on injured reserve Wednesday after he suffered a groin injury during. Coach Brandon Staley earlier this week described Gaziano’s injury as week-to-week rather than day-to-day.
In addition, the Chargers signed defensive lineman Christopher Hinton to the active roster from the practice squad in the wake of Gaziano’s injury. Hinton, a rookie from the University of Michigan, played in the past two games for the Chargers after he was activated from the practice squad. The Chargers also signed defensive lineman Aaron Crawford and wide receiver Jason Moore Jr. to the practice squad. Crawford was a member of the New York Giants’ practice squad earlier this season. Moore has played in 20 games with the Chargers over the past three years.
