Severe storms could bring large hail, damaging wind and possible tornadoes to Dallas-Fort Worth on Tuesday.
Forecasts showed the chance of severe weather occurring mostly along and east of the Interstate 35 corridor. Meanwhile, west of I-35 is under an increased risk of fires because of the wind.
Matt Bishop, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office, said a little after 5:30 p.m. the chances of storms forming this evening are very low.A warm area of air aloft, also known as, is shutting down any convective or thunderstorm development, Bishop said. Storms have a much better chance of developing right around 3 a.m. for the Dallas-Fort Worth Area, coinciding with the time the cold front moves in, he added.
Bishop expects the storms will move out of the Metroplex by sunrise and by around 9 a.m. for southeastern counties in North Texas.near-record high of 92 degrees MondayChances for rain will continue to rise through the week as temperatures drop, with highs in the mid-60s and lows in the high 40s, according to the weather service.
