Michael Stevens, 47, was arrested Thursday on a charge of online solicitation of a minor. He is the superintendent of Itasca ISD in Hill County.
In the video, Rosen said investigators from more than dozen local law enforcement agencies have been online posing as teenagers ages 13 to 15. Through social media, Stevens was speaking with an undercover officer whom he believed was a 15-year-old girl in Houston.Stevens told the investigator he was at work, and some of his photos appeared to be taken in his office, Rosen said. He added that Stevens was also planning a trip to Houston to engage in sex acts.
Six other men were arrested on similar charges along with Stevens, including a 41-year-old man, a 27-year-old FedEx driver, a 23-year-old man and a coffee shop employee, Rosen said. “These cases should be a wake-up call for parents,” Rosen said. “You must know what your children are doing online.”Thursday that a detective from the Harris County Sheriff’s department told them about Stevens’ arrest. It said it could not share further information until more facts are confirmed.
The district said the board of trustees will convene a meeting to review the matter and “take appropriate action.”
