A 68-year-old man died at a hospital in York six days after he was in a motorcycle accident in Franklin County.
The York County Coroner’s Office certified the death of a Franklin County man who was involved in a motorcycle crash about a week ago.
The coroner’s office and Pennsylvania State Police say 68-year-old Jerry Johnson failed to make a left turn while riding near 2345 Path Valley Road in Metal Township, Franklin County, on July 26. Johnson’s motorcycle went off the right side of the road and through a driveway where it hit a rock, launching Johnson and the motorcycle into the air, state police say.
Johnson was airlifted to WellSpan York Hospital where he died on Tuesday evening. The coroner’s office listed the cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death as accidental. State police reported that Johnson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. An autopsy will not take place.
