From the Safari Park to local colleges, there are many ways to participate in next week's celebrations

The San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians will once again host an all-day event in honor of the holiday. This year’s event will include an opening blessing ceremony at 10 a.m. in the Benbough Amphitheater, followed by the telling of the creation story at Flightline Plaza, traditional food demonstrations at the Raptors Nest and an Indigenous artisans exhibition at Nairobi Walk.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park, 15500 San Pasqual Valley Rd, Escondido, CA 92027. Safari Park tickets are $67 for adults and $57 for children .The Native Resource Center will host its annual Indigenous Peoples Day Week of Action starting in front of Hepner Hall Monday when students and faculty will show the impacts of the U.S.-Mexico border wall on Kumeyaay communities during an interactive art installation. The college will host an Indigenous Peoples Day celebration on campus at Compass Point with food, entertainment and prizes from 12-2 p.m. The first 150 students in attendance will be eligible to receive free frybread tacos.California State University San Marcos:
