Turkey and Montenegro join the list of riskiest places to travel to during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The CDC advises Americans avoid travel altogether to destinations in the Level 4 category, which applies to places that have had more than 500 new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents in the past 28 days. The U.S. has had 287 new infections per 100,000 people in just the past seven days. The CDC also added five places to the Level 3 category, which includes destinations that have had 100 to 500 new cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 residents in the past 28 days. Chile, Kosovo, Mozambique, North Macedonia and Uruguay joined that list.
In its general international travel guidance, the CDC advises to not travel at all unless you are fully vaccinated.
