The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) added four destinations to the highest level of its COVID-19 travel advisories on Tuesday.
The Points Guy Cruise & Travel writer Ashley Kosciolek discusses the uptick in travel and the return of cruise industry.
"If you had confirmed COVID-19 within the past 90 days, you do NOT need to get tested, but you should still follow all other recommendations ," the CDC notes. People who travel during the 10 days after their last exposure should properly wear a well-fitting mask when around others for the entire duration of travel during the 10 days. The CDC recommends that travelers who are not vaccinated and up to date with COVID-19 vaccines stay home and self-quarantine for a full five days after travel and all travelers should get tested with a COVID-19 viral test three to five days after travel.
Regardless of vaccination status, people who have recovered from a confirmed COVID-19 infection within the past 90 days do not need to get a test three to five days after travel.
