A Catholic church in Boulder County has been vandalized for the second time in eight months, and the recent damage appears tied to the Roe v. Wade controversy.

A Catholic church in Boulder County has been vandalized for the second time in eight months, with the recent damage following the leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade., 6739 S. Boulder Road, were damaged overnight with graffiti bearing abortion-rights messages and one window was shattered, officials with the Archdiocese of Denver said Wednesday.

A similar attack happened at the church in September, said Mark Haas, an archdiocese spokesman, in an email. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. A monetary estimate of the damage was not available Wednesday.Since February of 2020, the archdiocese has had about 30 reports of vandalism, theft or property damage to area churches. The overnight incident in Boulder is the first reported in 2022.
