Junior Meagan Humphries continues to show why she’s one of the best athletes in the state after winning four individual section titles last weekend and adding Masters champion to her resume on Saturday at Moorpark High.
All four marks qualify her to compete this Saturday at CIF State Championships on Friday and Saturday, May 26-27, at Buchanan High in Clovis. Oaks Christian’s boys 4×100 relay team made up of Lexington Leffall, Isaiah Green, Davon Benjamin and Deshonne Redeaux won the event in 41.43. Simi Valey’s Thenuk Chandrasekera, Sean Brown, Logan Pollard and Jaelon Barbarin placed second, which qualifies them for the CIF State finals.
Serra’s Roderick Pleasant won the boys 100 with a wind-legal 10.14, tying his own all-time California record he set last year. Pleasant ran a wind-aided 10.09 at the section finals last weekend, but due to the high winds the time won’t hold up in the record books. Pleasant is expected to try and beat his 10.14 time in Clovis this weekend.A pair of standout freshmen boys did enough to qualify for the CIF State event next weekend. Oaks Christian’ Deshonne Redeaux ran a 10.
