Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has spoken about Everton and the problems with the Premier League's financial rules
Jamie Carragher has delivered his verdict on Everton’s situation and called for a change to the Premier League’s financial rules.

“I’ve said that I don’t like the rules when you get to a certain stage then you can’t push on and have to sell a player, people talk about Villa or Newcastle having to sell a player to kick on, you don’t want that.” Earlier this week, Villa announced losses of 119.6m for the 2022/23 season but a significant portion is deductible under PSR, leading the Premier League not to charge the club with a possible breach. Meanwhile, Newcastle openly discussed the financial constraints they were faced with during the January transfer window, despite their wealthy ownership.
