Tiger King's Carole Baskin Deserved Better
seems to be: Everyone in this show is a weirdo, so pick your fighter. And of course nobody wants the lady with the condescending smirk and the leopard-print leggings, who’s always tattling to Congress. We want the dude with the gun and the mullet who mass-produces tiger-themed lube with his face on it. This is America, and we know good entertainment when we see it.
"#CaroleBaskinKilledHerHusband" is a conspiracy theory with no evidence to back it up. But that second scenario is something an alleged survivor of Antle’s described, at length, in the docu-series. Why are we still accepting women’s stories of being harassed, groomed, and abused by men as just part of life? Why is that still entertainment?
Antle has received little public blowback from these accusations. His zoo is up and running . He’s self-assured and powerful within his field, and he comes off as rational and well-spoken throughout the series. That’s sort of the classic recipe for predators—again, didn’t we just go over this? Do y’allfandom is fun until it’s just another time that we ignore credible accusations and explain away male violence, threats, and stalking behavior.

But the show presents no evidence or reason to believe the murder claim other than Exotic’s insistence that it’s true. And somehow, in a show where men were literally hired to kill Baskin, many fans have walked away cheering for Exotic.
