An intoxicated Carol Stream man led police on a high-speed chase and seriously injured another motorist after threatening a person with a gun, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors say an officer located the vehicle and tried to pull it over, but the driver sped away at speeds of more than 75 mph.The driver blew through a red light at West Elk Trail and Gary Avenue and collided with a vehicle carrying a man and 27-year-old woman, prosecutors said. He exited his Mercedes and fled on foot.
