A committee presented plans to the school board on Thursday night and suggested two models.
The Carlisle School District is considering closing two of its elementary schools as part of a restructuring plan.The district says it's seeing more enrollment in the northern part of the district and it needs to balance class size and support students.Both models include closing Mount Holly and Letort elementaries. As well as building a new school and renovating some existing schools.
“What are the options that we prepare that minimize impact to the students and staff. As opposed to trying to look at multiple additions, multiple renovations that you would have to undertake over a series of years as opposed to a consolidation which has efficiencies,” said Crabtree, Rohrbaugh, and Associates managing partner John Beddia.The district is holding community meetings starting next week.
