Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel was the first female-led superhero blockbuster based in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film focused on the powerful Carol Danvers, who broke free from everything she thought she knew and everyone she thought she could trust in order to fight for what was right.
At 2019's MTV Movie Awards, Captain Marvel took home the award for Best Fight, and Brie Larson appeared on stage to accept it. The star briefly thanked MTV and the fans who voted before coding the spotlight to Renae Moneymaker and Joanna Bennett, who accompanied her on stage."These are the women that trained me, and were also the stuntdoubles for Captain Marvel," Larson said."I could not have made this film without them... they are the living embodiment of Captain Marvel.
