A California man died after he fell near a waterfall inon Friday. The Kauai Police Department identified the deceased as Mark Debarr of California. He was 66 years old.
Debarr was hiking in Kauai’s Kokee State Park on the Waipoo Falls Trail. Around 10 a.m. on Sept. 22, first responders received a call that . Authorities told SFGATE they believe he accidentally slipped and fell 120 feet below the falls. Kauai police said that an autopsy is pending.Kauai is home to Mount Waialeale, considered one of the wettest spots on Earth, and the island features stunning hikes and popular beaches.
