Coby McClure of Jacksonville, a former lifeguard and U.S. Navy sailor, and another bystander rushed to pull the man out of the water at Cuna and Charlotte Streets near the St. Augustine Historic District.
McClure checked the man's vital signs and gave lifesaving compressions until first responders arrived on the scene minutes later. McClure said there was a live wire in the area.Florida Power & Light workers who responded to the scene said the source of electricity could be underground, but they wouldn't know for sure until waters recede.
