Police said that at 6:46 a.m., a caller to 911 said a friend who was very upset had called him saying he had just shot his wife and that “she was gone.” The friend said that the man was heavily armed. Burlington police officers arrived at a home in the 1400 block of East Victoria Avenue and briefly spoke with the man before he fled back inside the home.Police requested help from the crisis negotiation team and the Skagit Regional Response Team.
Additional attempts to contact the man were unsuccessful. Eventually, police entered the home and found a man and woman dead.Anyone with more information about the incident is asked to call the Burlington Police Department at 360-755-0921.
