A burglar has been convicted following a series of break-ins across the Stapleford and Trowell areas. Nottinghamshire Police arrested Kieran Ferris, aged 28, of Rockford Court, Stapleford, on Wednesday, May 24, following a number of break-ins.
When officers arrested Ferris on May 24 he was also found with a stolen mountain bike which was taken after a garage was burgled off the A6007 Ilkeston Road, Stapleford, between May 19 and 20. Ferris appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to two charges of burglary and a further count of handling stolen goods.He was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 15 June 2023.
"My team have been totally focused on identifying the suspect and putting a stop to this issue. I am pleased Ferris has been convicted of these offences and will now be held accountable for his actions.“Preventing and driving down burglary is a priority for the force and we want to do everything we can to stop burglaries from happening in the first place.
“Now people are enjoying the warmer weather, it’s also a timely reminder to residents to think about their home security and to make sure their homes are kept secure at all times.
