BTS has just set a new record, and it is likely only the first of many in the coming weeks by the biggest name in K-pop.
NEW YORK, NY - APRIL 12: Jimin and Jungkook of BTS visit The Elvis Duran Z100 Morning Show at Z100 Studio on April 12, 2019, in New York City. A YouTube representative has confirmed that"Boy With Luv" set a new record for the most plays in 24 hours on the site with 74.6 million views.but they have already made history with the track...and the group is likely just getting started.
Just a few hours after it passed the 24 hour-mark, “Boy With Luv” had already earned 78 million plays on YouTube alone, according to. That astounding number easily passes fellow K-pop outfit Blackpink’s “Kill This Love,” which set a new high point with just under 57 million plays in just its first full day on YouTube. That record was set this month as well, showing how powerful K-pop remains on the site.
While that 78 million figure likely incorporates views racked up after the first 24 hours had passed , it’s easy to see that “Boy With Luv” broke the record, and that it wasn’t even close., which was released in full on Friday at the same time the song and video were pushed.
