BTS aren't done promoting 'Butter' just yet.
BTS scored their third No. 1 debut on the Hot 100 earlier this summer when “Butter” wasted no time going right to the top of the tally. It opened in first place, becoming the group’s fourth champion, arriving as high as a cut can climb thanks in large part to a massive sales frame. The tune held court on the throne for seven consecutive frames before finally stepping aside...but not for long.
The South Korean superstars replaced themselves atop the Hot 100, an extremely rare feat among groups, as their even-newer single “Permission to Dance” also opened in first place, earning the band their fifth chart-topper. That massive seller only managed one turn in the spotlight before beginning its descent, relenting to “Butter” once again.
BTS have already released several remixes of “Butter,” with the Megan Thee Stallion version being the latest to arrive. After the original debuted and took over the world, the septet doled out their own remakes of the smash, calling them the"Hotter,""Sweeter" and"Cooler" takes. All three of those releases helped keep the single afloat on the Hot 100, as sales and streams of all four are lumped together into one charting entity.
So far, “Butter” has controlled the Hot 100 for nine nonconsecutive weeks, making it the longest-running No. 1 hit of the year in America. Still going strong inside the top 10, the track could easily rebound and continue its winning streak, perhaps even returning to the summit once the new take has enjoyed a full tracking frame in which to rack up sales and streams.
