The Portugal international is not believed to have suffered any serious injury from the incident and is expected to take part in training later on Monday. Fernandes was also in line to start for United’s trip to Anfield on Tuesday evening, although it has not been confirmed whether the midfielder will be included in the squad following the crash.
The 27-year-old has played a key role at United since his arrival from Sporting in a £47 million deal in 2020. The midfielder has scored 49 goals and registered 39 assist in 120 appearances for United and has won the club’s Player of the Year award for the last two campaigns.
