Actor Bruce Willis has been diagnosed with aphasia and is stepping away from his acting career, his family announced in a joint statement on social media
by his daughters Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel and Evelyn, wife Emma Hemming and ex-wife Demi Moore, the family wrote Willis, 67, “has been experiencing some health issues” and was diagnosed with aphasia, “which is impacting his cognitive abilities.”Aphasia is a communication disorder that affects one's understanding of speech and the ability to speak, read or write, though it does not affect intelligence, according to the National Aphasia Association.
“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support,” Willis’ family wrote. “We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.”
