Bruce Campbell is a known figure in the world of the Evil Dead franchise, and although he won't be starring in the upcoming Evil Dead Rise.
franchise, having played the iconic horror movie hero Ash Williams. Though he won’t be starring in the upcomingabout the upcoming film, director Lee Cronin talked about how he believed that in order to grow thefranchise, this new film had to “break free” of Ash. However, Cronin did say that Campbell was “hidden” in the film somewhere, and even challenged audience members to find him.
“It felt like in order to move the franchise somewhere new and to unlock the potential of the universe to tell more stories, it needed to break free [of Ash],” Cronin stated. “But Bruce is hidden in the movie somewhere. Bruce has a small presence in the movie. The first person to figure it out and send me a tweet, I’ll give them 50 bucks.”
