BAYONNE, New Jersey -- Authorities are searching for answers after two brothers drowned at a school swimming pool in Bayonne, New Jersey.Police and paramedics arrived on the scene at 208 Prospect Avenue at around 8:30 p.m.According to police, as a lifeguard approached the deep end, he observed the two victims unable to resurface and entered the pool with the other two lifeguards.Responding police officers, firefighters, and EMTs assisted with life-saving measures.
The two victims were taken to Bayonne Medical Center where they were pronounced dead after further life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.But Bayonne's schools superintendent says one was a recent graduate and the other was a high school junior.A lifeguard was scheduled to be on duty, but how these two brothers drowned is still unknown.
