He used an anti-gay phrase that was characterized as"offensive" by the NBA. He made the comment after the Nets defeated the Chicago Bulls 116-105 Thursday. After Thomas uttered the phrase, TNT broadcaster Jared Greenberg replied:"All right, I’m sure the league office will enjoy that one.”“I want to apologize for the insensitive word I used in the postgame interview,” Thomas I want to apologize for the insensitive word I used in the post-game interview. I was excited about the win and was being playful. I definitely didn't intend to offend anyone, but realize that I probably did. My apologies again.
